Jasmine Woods  is an experienced Therapist in the Central Virginia area. She is originally from Hampton Roads, VA, making her way to RVA through her post-secondary schooling. She attended Virginia State University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Masters in Counseling. She holds a graduate degree in School Counseling, as well as Community (Clinical) Counseling.  

Throughout  her nine  years in the field, Ms. Woods has gained tremendous experience serving clients. From working within a Residential Facility with children to servicing adults with Mental Health Diagnosis, she has been able to apply a plethora of clinical modalities and orientations. She has also been trained in Trauma-Informed Care, completing Bio-Psychosocial assessments and Diagnostics using the DSM-V, and is well versed in identifying ACE’s. 

Ms. Woods is currently completing her Residency in Counseling, to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has engaged in servicing clients and patients through Intensive In-Home counseling, Therapeutic Day Treatment counseling, Crisis Intervention, and Partial Hospitalization during this time. Ms. Woods hopes to complete her Residency and achieve her professional license in 2021.  


Ms. Woods offers free 20-minute, first-time appointments by phone or video call.

​Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Mind-Body Specialist who has  been helping clients improve their quality of life for over 20 years.  Her therapeutic style is collaborative, friendly, informal  and warm. She uses creativity, humor, attentiveness, and compassion to  cultivate a healing environment.

Prior to her work as a psychotherapist, she worked as a health coach and  fitness consultant.  Her approach merges these fields as she take a  strengths-based and solution-focused approach to addressing anxiety,  relationship challenges, and behavior change. With an existential lens,  Michelle utilizes narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and  mind-body techniques to identify unmet needs and change dysfunctional  patterns.

Michelle  is involved in therapists’ education with a focus on curriculum  development as well as counselor supervision. Her current research  focuses on the identification of weight bias, its effects, and  interventions to help remedy these effects.  She presents locally and  nationally on this topic and is passionate about community involvement  and changing the culture around fitness and weight management.

SPECIALTIES:   anxiety, managing anger, life transitions, body image, health  behavior change, self confidence, mindfulness, weight management,  relationships, as well as struggles with clutter and disorganization.
